The Nodance Film Festival
The Nodance Film Festival was a DIY satellite event that ran for six years in Park City, Utah during the prestigious Sundance Film Festival. Nodance catered to first-time filmmakers, and was the world’s first DVD-projected film festival.
Nodance screened many notable films including the surfing documentary STEP INTO LIQUID. Nodance was ultimately bought by Spirit Dance Entertainment (Forest Whitaker’s production company), and garnered press from major news outlets such as Time Magazine, CNN, LA Times, The Hollywood Reporter, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and Moviemaker Magazine.
Nodance hosted filmmaking panels, a screenplay competition and a traveling roadshow to the Cannes Film Festival. Formed from a simple idea to help the craft of filmmaking, Nodance helped launch the careers of many young filmmakers working today.
